Welcome to Operation Jackdaw, a wild camping experience located on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent, UK.
Op-Jackdaw began with a small group of passionate wild campers (mostly ex-military) who shared a deep interest in the great outdoors and recognised the positive impact it has on our well-being.
That interest has evolved into a monthly wild camp, to which we welcome other military veterans (and those serving).
Why attend?
Connection:
This is an excellent opportunity for veterans and like-minded individuals to reunite, reminisce, and communicate with people who speak your language!
Learning:
During the camp, you will learn and explore new skills while participating in practical activities. Examples include modern camping and army equipment, shooting ranges, military history, bushcraft, and woodworking skills.
Wellbeing:
Our camp facilitates a mental health check-in while also providing an escape into nature away from 'everyday life' in a non-threatening, safe environment.
Operation Jackdaw is founded on the following values: camaraderie, reconnection, nostalgia, and learning.
We can provide you with everything you need to attend our camps, including food.
All you need is enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved.
We've already welcomed over 100 wild campers into our community, and we're eager to see more of you.
